Is the free tier really free?
Yes. No credit card required. Sign up, get an API key, and start making requests immediately.
What happens if I exceed my rate limit?
You'll receive a 429 response with a Retry-After header. No data is lost and no charges are incurred. To avoid hitting limits, export the dataset and host it yourself — then use just 1 request per day to sync updates.
Can I self-host the dataset?
Yes. Both tiers include dataset export. Export the full taxonomy as JSON, CSV, or SQL and host it yourself. Then use your free requests to check for updates daily.
